I may have mentioned a little while ago that I got a record player. So I wanted to do a little show-and-tell of the coolest LP covers I have so far. I particularly love the El Lissitzky inspired Kraftwerk cover. It's bright red and geometric! The percussive jazz albums really KICK ASS in case anyone was wondering.

Everyone should go to the Symphony!

The other night, I went to the Symphony! It was Sibelius' Violin Concerto and Rachmaninov's Symphony No.2 as the main event. It was INCREDIBLE, the soloist was SPECTACULAR!!! The whole evening was just magical. When the intermission finished, a random guy had a mic and got on stage and proposed to his girlfriend. She said yes, by the way. We also ran into our friends Mum too, a few rows behind us!

All this aside, there's another reason why I love going to the Symphony so much... As a few of my truly devoted readers may know, I have a strange affinity for Contemporary Architecture, Mid-century Modern Furniture and Designer Chairs (I have many books on these topics which I drool over). Getting back to the point, I'm particularly fond of certain aspects of Perth Concert Hall's interior. Hmm, there's just something about exposed concrete beams and wooden panels that gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. Weird, I know... Don't even get me started on the chairs!

BIG NEWS: The 1st birthday of this blog is coming up pretty soon, so I'll be doing something a little special!

As of now, I promise I'll cut down on the filtered iPhone pictures. I have been going a little overboard lately, I'll admit.

Waffles, anyone?

It started as a failed blog background picture. However, it could work as a desktop background, maybe? I made it in Illustrator, took it into Photoshop and added a bit of blur and grain to make it look a little more fancy. If you stare at it too long, it'll make you really hungry! Mmm, never-ending pink waffles... Although, it kinda looks more like a gigantic strawberry wafer biscuit. Either way, I'd eat it!

You might have already noticed, there's a new background image, finally. It'll do for now. Expect more changes/posts/updates soon! Here's a little secret: You can rotate guidelines in Illustrator!!!

Because a 1978 orange Vespa wasn't gonna happen

Quite recently, I've been on the look-out for a new 'set of wheels' (I use the term loosely). And not just any 'set of wheels' either... I really only have two criteria; it has to be orange and it has to look AWESOME! Sure, that may sound a little shallow, but I feel that if you like the look of your 'wheels', you'll be more inclined to take them out for a spin. And mind you, finding anything decent that comes in orange wasn't easy.

I already have an electric bicycle and it's great. Though, I've been on a bit of a health kick lately and I'm starting to feel like taking the 'next step' wouldn't be so bad if it looked this wicked! By having an electric bike, as well as a regular bike, I have the option of being a bit lazy or actually pedalling the proper way. Or I could just learn to drive already...

This bike is the Ticino from Electra, and this particular model has 20 gears and a whole bunch of fancy features that mean absolutely nothing to me. But I did discover today that single gear bikes, cheap as they may be, are bad for hills and a bit annoying.
