Hooray!!!! The CS6 shortcut sheets are finally finished!!! Use the stupid hard-to-see link above to download them. I tried to make it red!

I suppose I've been working on them since the end of November. I did finish them sooner but I was kinda busy and then I found a way to make them even more AWESOME! I finally figured out the stupid Apple modifier key symbols (Command, Shift, Option, Control), and included them on the top. Why are they stupid? Well, the symbols all over drop-down menus but not on the actual Apple keyboard itself! Which makes soooo much sense. I used only the symbols because they really ought to be memorised. Once you do, you can figure out all the shortcuts in any program by yourselves! Something useful to remember is 'shift up', since shifting is movement. Then the others are easy. Everyone knows the squiggly Command key right? The ONLY symbol on the keyboard.

Because I included the symbols instead of words, it took a little longer to double-check everything and get it right the first time. I certainly didn't want to give you guys dodgy stuff riddled with mistakes and spelling errors. And before you ask, we spell 'colour' with a 'u' and 'minimise' with an 's' in Australia, that's just how we roll. So what else is new this time? I modified the leading to make space for even more useful shortcuts! Anyway, I hope you find them useful!

Yesterday, I discovered this amazing Photoshop tutorials website. I was looking for a better way to make things I did in illustrator look grungy. I already knew how, but I wanted to see if there was another way. So I did a google search and stumbled upon this!!! Abduzeedo have over 200 free Photoshop tutorials and some of them are actually quite awesome...

They even have Illustrator, Fireworks and Pixelmator tuts as well!

Okay maybe not ALL the shortcuts, but the useful ones at least.

So yesterday, I noticed my little shortcut sheets got pinned on Pinterest. Then re-pinned a few hundred times! Needless to say, I was quite thrilled. These sheets started as a bit of help for my office buddies from other departments who wanted to learn a little Photoshop and inDesign. Good skills to have in the newspaper industry. I had a little look around to see what other sheets were like and noticed that they either had way too many shortcuts to be concise and useful or were just ugly, so I made one with all the shortcuts I use daily that I've memorised over the years.

Since there was such overwhelming interest (200 hits in one day certainly counts as "overwhelming" to me), I made one for Illustrator to finish off the set! Anyway, thank you so much for visiting! I'm really glad everyone's finding them useful. \(^_^)/

Waffles, anyone?

It started as a failed blog background picture. However, it could work as a desktop background, maybe? I made it in Illustrator, took it into Photoshop and added a bit of blur and grain to make it look a little more fancy. If you stare at it too long, it'll make you really hungry! Mmm, never-ending pink waffles... Although, it kinda looks more like a gigantic strawberry wafer biscuit. Either way, I'd eat it!

You might have already noticed, there's a new background image, finally. It'll do for now. Expect more changes/posts/updates soon! Here's a little secret: You can rotate guidelines in Illustrator!!!
